Teargas US tour and 7" Download

Probably my favorite band out of Australia in recent times ever since I saw them at Such is Life in 2008 I think it was? Anyway, lovely blokes Teargas are touring the States and you will be missing out if you don't go see them. Mixing a healthy dose of Japanese punk similar to Bastard, Deathside, Judgement and a splash of Poison Idea make Teargas a force to be reckoned with. I've also taken the liberty of uploading their fantastic 7" which is now sold out however don't fret, they are releasing a 12" very shortly on Hardcore Victim. Can't wait to hear it! Featuring members of Draft Dodger, Dick Nasty and Insurgents, be prepared for something truly special at Chaos in Tejas!

Depression - Hardcore History (1989)

Formed in Melbourne circa 1982 Depression were potentially one of the first hardcore punk bands from down-under. Incorporating influences from Discharge to Black Flag and beyond, they managed to formulate their own hard hitting in your face sound that made them incredibly popular at home and abroad, so much so one of their most popular songs 'What a strange world' featured on the Maximum Rock&Roll compilation: Welcome to 1984 (Recently reissued!) Depression reformed in 2009 with both Spike and Smeer returning along with members of Smeers Rock&Roll band 'Speed Demons' playing gigs sporadically both locally and interstate.

This record was released as a double LP in 89' and features all of Depressions' early material from their Demo tape until the Australia Australia EP in 85 as well as the self titled LP. After Spike (lead singer) left Depression in 86' they went on with guitarist Smeer taking over vocals and heading in a more thrash metal direction. This releases also features a few songs from that period which I'm assuming were from a demo tape but nonetheless are worthy of merit. Enjoy!

Distro Item: Unknown to God - Demo CD

I've put off making distro items public thus far due to wanting to order a significant variety before making them available to you record junkies and cassette nerds however I've made an exception. I've just received 8 copies of Sydney metal punk band Unknown to God's debut ten track demo and I have to say its an absolute winner. When listening to this demo you can decipher exactly UTG's influences: Japanese Metal Punk such as Crow and Zouo with a hint of later Anti-Cimex and of course, Syphilitic Vagina's.

The duel vocalists works exceptionally well especially with instrumentation as tight as a ducks bum. Stand out tracks include Black Future, and Part Wolf Part Man, also includes 3 covers: Give up all Hope (Crow), Syphilitic
Vagina's (GISM) and When the Innocent Die (Anti-Cimex). Exceptional listening and I can't recommend this highly enough.

Limited to 100 copies,
I'm selling them for $14 AUD (Not inclusive of postage) Get in touch: terveet-kadet@hotmail.com

Mandatory first post

Greetings,
Welcome to my blog, I plan on providing you with awesome tunes from around the globe. We are currently experiencing what I'd like to call: the new wave of raw punk. To shed some light on this claim I'm going to define raw punk as:

A subgenre of punk music influenced by early 80's hardcore punk, specifically from the UK (Chaos UK, Discharge, Disorder). Raw punk is an umberella term thats not strictly limited to the UK geographically and incorparates bands from all around the globe who are influenced by the subgenre known as UK82.
Of course, this blog/distro isn't going to be entirely centered on one genre of music, it will encompass a number of different artists and genres. I made that statement purely to emphase the style that my current bands are playing. (Leprosy and Mangel Wankers for those who don't know). For the time being I will be posting links regarding these two bands as well as the first official Atomic Age release which will be the demo of Californian Post punk band: Death of Venus.

I plan on starting small by limiting this labels releases to Cassettes at first but will be moving on to vinyl with the first Leprosy 7" which will be out shortly this year. Also in the middle of getting artwork for my distro and this webpage, In the mean time, enjoy my blog!
